Terry MacGibbon, president and CEO of FNX MINING, has been awarded the 2004 Viola MacMillan Developer's Award by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada. Under MacGibbon, FNX Mining has evolved from a junior exploration company into a profitable nickel mining company in less than two years.
Andre Gauthier has joined the board of directors and has been appointed president and CEO of MAXY GOLD CORP., based in Vancouver. Maxy Gold holds the rights to acquire an 80% interest in the Luchun gold project, and a 75% interest in the Midu gold project, both in Yunnan Province, China.
MINDORO RESOURCES of Edmonton, Alta., has appointed Penny Gould as CFO. Gould, who has been with Mindoro since 1996, will continue in her role of executive vice-president, a
position she has held since 1999.

Obituary
Jean-Jacques Martel has died at the age of 78. Martel was one of the founders of NORTHERN MINING EXPLORATIONS and a highly regarded member of the Canadian mining industry. As a Member of Parliament from 1958 to 1962, Martel defended the interests and merits of the Canadian mining industry. In recognition of his services, he was awarded the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada's Distinguished Service Award.
