Robert L. Byrd is the new president of Minera Triton S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of GLENCAIRN GOLD of Toronto.


Robert L. Byrd is the new president of Minera Triton S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of GLENCAIRN GOLD of Toronto. Triton owns and operates the Limon gold mine in Nicaragua.

Toronto-based ODYSSEY RESOURCES has shuffled its management team. Chairman Avrom E. Howard will resume the position of president and CEO following the resignation of Paul F. Matysek, who remains on the board. Howard is also Odyssey’s exploration manager. John E. Buckle, who is also VP of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, has been named VP marketing and investor relations. Finally, Hatem H. Kawar becomes secretary-treasurer in addition to his longstanding role as CFO.

EUROPEAN GOLDFIELDS of Toronto has announced that Simon Lawrence has resigned from its board of directors.

Nigel H. Jones is now a director of ASHTON MINING in Vancouver.

WILDCAT EXPLORATION, the Winnipeg-based firm, has named Edward Sawitzky to the position of president and COO. He was formerly the Aur Resources regional geologist in Flin Flon, Man.

Effective Oct. 14, Dr. Adnan Ali Al-Sultan has resigned as deputy chairman and director of THISTLE MINING.
