IAMGOLD CORP. of Toronto has hired John McCombe as its new VP operations. He will be responsible for overseeing both existing operations and late-stage development projects. Most recently, McCombe held the same post at Breakwater Resources.

John Yates, formerly president of Toronto-based JAGUAR NICKEL has retired from the company but will remain on the board of directors. The board has appointed Richard Weizenbach to the position of executive VP and COO. He has over 25 years experience at Sherritt International, Anaconda Nickel and Hatch Engineering.

Vancouver-based REDSTAR GOLD CORP. has named Jacob (Jake) Margolis as its exploration manager for the United States. He will head Redstar's project development and acquisitions efforts in Nevada and the rest of the Great Basin, where he has nearly 20 years experience.

Warren Bates, P.Geo, has been named VP exploration at ST ANDREW GOLDFIELDS' corporate office in Oakville, Ont. He will be responsible for the company's exploration programs in Timmins, Ont., Eskay Creek, B.C., and Kuskokwin-Tintina, Alaska, as well as the Stock and Nixon Fork gold mining projects.

YUKON ZINC CORP. of Vancouver has a new VP environment and community affairs, Pamela Ladyman. She joined the company in February of this year to manage the permitting of the Wolverine zinc-silver project. She will continue with the permitting and environmental management of the project and implementation of the socioeconomic participation agreement recently completed with the Ross River Dena Council. In addition, Ladyman is responsible for the management of health and safety matters for the company.
