The MINING ASSOCIATION OF CANADA, headquartered in Ottawa, has chosen Falconbridge CEO Derek Pannell its new chairman. He succeeds Inmet's Richard Ross, who has completed his two-year term as chairman.
Raymond Mah, formerly of Placer Dome, has joined Vancouver's YUKON ZINC CORP. as its COO. Chief among his responsibilities will be to review and optimize plans to develop the Wolverine zinc-copper-lead deposit in the Yukon.

PREMIUM EXPLORATION of Vancouver has named Nancy Reardon as COO and director. She graduated from Dalhousie University (BSc geology, honours) and the University of Ottawa (MSc) before garnering significant exploration experience in Latin America.
REDHAWK RESOURCES of Vancouver has announced several additions to its executive team. Charles G. Pitcher has been elected non-executive chairman, Bruce M. Briggs is president, and R. Joe Sandberg has become VP development for Copper Creek. The three men and Steven Bastable have also been elected directors of the company. As well, Redhawk announced the appointment of Michael A. Petrina as a consultant for the ReMac project.
The board of directors of Toronto-based FIRST NICKEL INC. have appointed William Anderson, a member of the board, as president and CEO to replace Elizabeth Kirkwood. Anderson, a co-founder of First Nickel, is the president of MPH Consulting (a mining and geological consulting firm), and brings over 30 years of experience in the mining industry in operations and management to his position.
