Former federal cabinet minister the Hon. Anne McLellan has joined the board of Calgary's NEXEN INC. She holds a BA and a law degree from Dalhousie University and a master of laws degree from King's College, University of London. She was admitted to the Bar of Nova Scotia in 1976.

BLUE NOTE METALS of Montreal has hired Chris Zahovskis as VP operations, initially to oversee the company's Caribou zinc project in New Brunswick. Zahovskis is a Queen's University graduate who has worked in Canada, Turkey, Indonesia, Australia and New Caledonia. Most recently he was director of mining operations at the Goro Nickel project.

Two new directors, Warren Holmes and Rene Galipeau, have joined the board of Montreal-based CAMPBELL RESOURCES.

Vancouver-based CORAL GOLD RESOURCES has named Louis Wolfin, a founder of the company, to the position of president. Former president Matt Wayrynen is now a vice-president.

INTERNATIONAL KRL RESOURCES and LOGAN RESOURCES, both of Vancouver, have appointed Michael Hibbitts to the position of VP exploration for both companies. He is a co-recipient of a BC & Yukon Chamber of Mines award for his work on the Kemess mine development. He recently left a position at New Gold.

Brian O'Connor is new chief geologist and qualified person at NEW GOLD's New Afton gold project in British Columbia.

Vancouver-based NIBLACK MINING has named Darwin Green VP of exploration. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and Carleton University.

The new chairman of Toronto-based ORVANA MINERALS is Susan McArthur, a seasoned investment banker. Malcolm King will become president and CEO on an interim basis until a replacement is selected.

RAMPART VENTURES of Vancouver has appointed Dr. Hikmet Akin as its president. He was president and CEO of the original Uranerz Group of companies before its sale to Cameco Corp.
