Toronto-based ABER DIAMOND CORP. has named Thomas J. O'Neill to the position of CEO at is newly-acquired HARRY WINSTON diamond retailer in New York City. He will also hold the title of president at Aber, and Robert Gannicott will continue to be Aber's CEO.<br>

The board of Vancouver-based NORTHERN LION GOLD has named John R. Fraser as VP exploration. He will oversee exploration at Northern Lion's Haveri massive sulphide project in Finland and consult on other potential property acquisitions.<br>

NORWEST CORPORATION (Norwest), a mining and energy consulting company, has made several key changes to its organizational and corporate structure. The board has established NORWEST CORPORATION INTERNATIONAL (NCI), a new management organization, which will be responsible for the future co-ordination, integration and growth of the services provided by the Norwest group. Howard Lutley, formerly president of Norwest in Canada, has been appointed CEO of NCI in Calgary. Donovan Symonds, formerly president of Norwest in the United States, has been named executive VP. Javier Sola, who was formerly a project manager with Norwest in Canada, has been named NCI's manager of corporate finance. Additionally, Joe Aiello, formerly VP, has been appointed president of Norwest in Canada; and Bob Evans, a former senior VP, will serve as president of Norwest in the U.S. John Wright will remain as president of Questa Engineering Inc., the petroleum industry consulting company within the Norwest group, based in Golden, Colo.<br>

David D. Petratis has been promoted to president and CEO of the SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC North American Operation Division. He succeeds Chris C. Richardson, who is retiring after 33 years with the company. Schneider Electric is a Toronto-based company.
