NUINSCO RESOURCES of Toronto has announced the appointment of Brian E. Robertson as president. His 30+ years of experience include VP mining for Nuinsco, manager of the Lac des Iles palladium mine, the South Deep gold mine, the Kemess copper/gold mine, Hope Brook gold mine, Sam Goosley silver mine, and the Dome gold mine. Robertson has received numerous awards, among them the CIM Metal Mining Division Award for progressive mine management practices, the Newfoundland Association of Professional Engineer's Environmental Award, the Dupont/Conoco Environmental Leadership Award and the British Colombia Department of Mines Environmental Award. Warren Homes, currently president and CEO, will continue as CEO and a director of Nuinsco.

Toronto-based KINROSS GOLD CORP. has has appointed Hugh Agro as vice-president, corporate development. Agro most recently held the same title at Placer Dome Canada. He holds an MBA in Finance and a BSc with honours in Mining Engineering.

Michael Petrina has been retained by Vancouver-based CROSS LAKE MINERALS to oversee work pertaining to the QR gold mine near Quesnel, BC. The property operated previously from May 1995 to April 1998. Cross Lake is assembling an internal feasibility study for the reopening of the mine.
