RAMBLER METALS & MINING of St. John's, Nfld., has named George Ogilvie to the position of VP of operations to oversee the reopening of the Rambler copper project in Baie Verte. Ogilvie received a mine engineering degree from the Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland, and began his career in South Africa. He moved to Canada in 1997, eventually becoming mine manager at Flin Flon, Manitoba. He was recently employed by Dynatec as mine manager for the McCreedy West mine near Sudbury, Ont.

Christine Vaillancourt is the new chief geologist at Ottawa-based NORTHERN SHIELD RESOURCES.

Ottawa-headquartered OREZONE RESOURCES has tapped Niel Marotta as its next VP of corporate development and Bryan Tokarsky its manager of corporate finance.

GRANDE CACHE COAL of Calgary announced that David Passfield, VP and GM of the Grande Cache operations, has left the company. Lloyd Metz, director of engineering and planning, is acting as interim GM until a permanent replacement can be hired.
