Nigel Tamlyn has been named the new general manager of the Nui Phao Mining Joint Venture Co. in Vietnam by TIBERON MINERALS of Toronto. He brings over 20 years’ experience in Africa, the Philippinnes and Ireland to the position. He is a graduate of the Camborne School of Mines and the University of the Witwatersrand (MSc Mining, Mineral Economics).
Vancouver-based FARALLON RESOURCES has appointed Jorge Villasenor to the post of General Manager to oversee its Campo Morado massive sulphide project in Mexico. Besides his hands-on mining experience, Villasenor has been a corporate representative on the North American Environmental Council and the International Council for Metals and the Environment from 1995-2000, and has also Chaired the Community Relations Panel for the Mexico Mining Chamber, as well as being involved in other forums associated with community issues and sustainable development.
PAN AFRICAN MINING CORP. of Vancouver has an agreement with Robert A. Jackson who becomes a senior geologist for the company and will serve as its resident exploration manager in Madagascar. Through a subsidiary, Pan African is exploring for gold, precious stones, base metals and industrial minerals in that country.
