Thomas Drolet has replaced Robin Phinney as president and CEO of Karnalyte Resources in Calgary. Drolet has more than 40 years experience in the international energy, mining and technology sectors.
North American Nickel of Vancouver has named Patricia Tirschmann as principal nickel geologist. She has nearly 25 years of exploration experience specializing in magmatic nickel-copper sulphide deposits. Most recently, Tirschmann served for six years as VP exploration for Continental Nickel, and before that in various roles including senior geologist, international nickel sulphide exploration with Falconbridge.
Montreal-based Orbite Aluminae has chosen the plant manager for is Cap-Chat HPA plant; he is Bruno Bibeau. He was previously sector manager of operations at ArcelorMittal.
Renaud Adams has been named president as well as COO of Toronto-based Primero Mining Corp. Prior to joining Primero, he held senior positions with IamGold, Cambior and Breakwater. Joseph F. Conway will remain CEO of the company.
Rathdowney Resources of Vancouver has appointed Robert Konski president and CEO. Based in Poland, he will lead the team seeking to develop the Olza zinc-lead-silver project in that country.
Daniel Racine has joined Toronto-based Yamana Gold as senior VP Canadian operations and mine planning and development. He was until recently senior VP at Agnico Eagle having moved up from engineering at the Laronde gold mine.
