Former editor of Canadian Mining Journal, Christen Mamen, died peacefully at home on Sept. 24, at age 86. Mamen was one of the longest-serving editors of the magazine (1954-74), at a time when it was published in Gardenvale, Que., west of Montreal. A celebration of his life was held at the family home in St. Sauveur, Que., on Sept. 28. Donations would be welcome for the McGill University Alumni Fund or a charity of your choice, in his name.
