PEORIA, Illinois - CATERPILLAR has introduced seven new models in its M Series motor grades. They feature a number of concepts that make them simpler to operate, easier to maintain and more powerful that the H Series models the new graders replace.

Chief among the improvements is the new dual joystick controls that replace as many as 15 levers and a steering wheel. Control is simplified and less fatiguing for the operator because his/her arm and hand movements are reduced by as much as 78%, says the manufacturer.

The M Series also features high-torque, all-wheel drive, advanced power management and standard variable horsepower, the new C Series engines with ACERT technology and a new drive train. They come in seven versions from 93 to 373 kW and with blades of 3.66, 4.27, 4.88 and 7.32 metres wide. Complete specifications for the M Series should be available at www.Cat.com soon.
