Last week readers used the poll to tell us how felt about the ban on uranium exploration and mining in British Columbia. This question received our largest number of votes so far, totalling at least 220 in less than a week. Interestingly, the results shifted dramatically during the voting period. At first the respondents voted about 85% in favour of lifting the ban. However, by 2 pm on the last poll day (Wednesday May 7), 75% had voted in favour of enforcing the ban, while only 20% wanted the ban scrapped; 5% preferred that it be replaced by stiff regulations. Thanks very much for sharing your opinions. We include a number of comments on the poll as our next item.
