ONTARIO Toronto-based URSA MAJOR MINERALS is shipping a minimum of 500 t/d from its Shakespeare nickel-copper mine 70 km west of Sudbury to XSTRATA NICKEL's Strathcona mill.

Ursa Major has about 20,000 t of run-of-mine ore stockpiled. Primary crushing is carried out at the mine site by a contractor. The ore is then trucked to the mill. The Shakespeare ore is blended with Xstrata's other ores for processing.

Ursa Major continues to work on development of the mine site. The sedimentation pond for water control is nearing completion. A truck scale with related office and security facilities is also nearing completion. Commissioning has begun of the equipment used to sample the ore ahead of processing. This summer, the company anticipates developing a larger long-term crusher pad at the Shakespeare property and will consolidate all crushing, sampling and stockpiling at the mine site later this year.

Details of the Shakespeare project are available at www.UrsaMajorMinerals.com.
