ONTARIO - Timmins-based CANADIAN ARROW MINES, LTD. has completed open pit mining but continues to ship stockpiled nickel sulphide ore from its Alexo and Kelex operations near Timmins. During the second quarter of 2005, a total of 4,042 tonnes of nickel sulphide ore with an average grade of 1.67% Ni, 0.18% Cu and 0.06% Co was delivered to FALCONBRIDGE LTD.'s Strathcona mill near Sudbury, Ont., for processing. The company has completed the open pit mining of an additional estimated 6,000 tonnes, which will be shipped to the mill by the end of 2005.
Canadian Arrow is currently assessing the viability of mining additional identified mineralization via ramp access from the bottom of the Alexo and Kelex pits. Work will focus on advancing some of the more highly prospective targets on its grassroots properties in addition to testing targets remaining on the Alexo property. You can read more about the Alexo mine in the January 2005 issue of CMJ, or visit www.canadianarrowmines.com.
