LABRADOR - INCO LTD. says a strike by workers at its Voisey's Bay nickel mine near Nain will not have an immediate impact on its overall production of finished nickel. The company says it has sufficient stockpiles of concentrate to keep the mills and smelters in Ontario and Manitoba running.
Members of the United Steelworkers Local 6480 walked off the job on July 27, following the breakdown of negotiations. At press time no further talks were scheduled.
