SASKATCHEWAN - Calgary-based OILSANDS QUEST has encouraging results from its drilling program in northwest Saskatchewan, a province not usually associated with the oil sands. The company set up a 40-person camp and began drilling seven holes spaced about 800 metres apart in mid-December 2005. The initial program calls for a total of 25 holes.

Six of the seven initial holes encountered the Fort McMurray Formation, varying in thickness from 5 to 27 metres. Hydrocarbon assays came back with a weighted average of 15%, compared with 10-12% in most producing Alberta deposits.

This is the first oil sands exploration program in Saskatchewan. Clearly, the McMurray Formation doesn't stop at the Alberta border.

Oilsands Quest is a private company owned by CANWEST PETROLEUM. Learn more at www.OilsandsQuest.com.
