EDMONTON, Alberta On Oct 29, BUCYRUS CANADA received its ISO 9001:2000 certificate. Unlike the earlier ISO 9001 standard, the new ISO9001:2000 program requires a focus on continuous improvement. The Edmonton facility's qualification to the new standard confirms that a monumental level of overall quality and continuous improvement has been achieved throughout the facility.

The Edmonton facility is unique in the scope and range of its work. It is the North American re-build centre for Bucyrus and continues to meet the needs of industrial customers from across Canada and the world. In fact, it was Bucyrus Canada that rebuilt the electrical rotating components for a Bucyrus 2570W dragline that was moved to and rebuilt in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming last year. The 70-ton motor generator set for that dragline rebuild required a 47.5-metre trailer and was one of the longest truckloads of equipment ever to ship out of Edmonton. Another part of the project required the disassembly and overhaul of twenty-two 800-hp motors for the 2570W.

Bucyrus Canada Limited has nearly 50 years of mining industry experience. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bucyrus International. Visit www.bucyrus.com.
