MILWAUKEE, WI - ROCKWELL AUTOMATION has added the Allen-Bradley XM-160 to its line of vibration monitors. These intelligent, distributed I/O modules can provide early warnings from fans, pumps and blowers before failure results in unscheduled maintenance.

The Allen-Bradley XM series is the first system to link maintenance tools into control architecture. The modules can be deployed on an open standard industrial bus for continuous real-time monitoring. They can be integrated via DeviceNet with other XM protection modules, PLCs, distributed control systems, monitoring systems, and display devices.

Each new XM-160 unit measures and reports the overall vibration level between selected high and low pass filters, as well as the gap or bias voltage per channel. Since they include inputs, outputs, indicators, alarms and relays, they are easy and cost-effective to install, operate and maintain, according to Rockwell.
