AUSTRALIA – CITIC SMCC Process Technology is a newly formed subsidiary of CITIC HIC Australia of Sydney. Creation of CITIC SMCC follows the acquisition of SMCC Pty Ltd. The new subsidiary is based in Brisbane.
CITIC SMCC offers services in the areas of grinding circuit design, technology and equipment selection, and mineral processing plant optimization. Dr. Stephen Morrell, the founder and owner of SMCC, will continue to work with CITIC SMCC under a strategic partnership agreement. Dr. Mike Daniel, who is also an expert in the comminution field, will also be working with CITIC SMCC.
The formation of CITIC SMCC expands CITIC HIC’s current technical services and provide more complete solutions to its customers with the best suited solutions for milling technology selection, particular optimization. Efficient grinding has become one of the most important aspects of mineral processing, especially knowing that the milling circuit can account for 70% of the cost of a new plant.
