URANIUM CITY, Saskatchewan GEKKO SYSTEMS of Australia and Vancouver, B.C., has sold a complete 2,000-ton/day Gekko modular mineral processing plant for GLR RESOURCES's Goldfields development. This is the first Gekko-designed gravity recovery and intensive leach plant to be headed for a Canadian mine.

Gekko tested Goldfields ore grading from over 60 g/t Au to less than 1 g/t Au with excellent results, says GLR. The combination of primary jigging, centrifugal scavenging and cleaning should result in a gravity concentrate containing 85% of the gold. Cyanidation leaching will probably result in gold recoveries of 98-99%. Cyanide will be destroyed using hydrogen peroxide. The plant has the advantage of very low capital and operating costs compared with traditional whole-ore cyanidation processes.

Readers of CMJ's Net News will know that Gekko has sold processing equipment to gold mines in Tanzania, Russia and Peru in the past 18 months. Visit the website at www.gekkos.com.
