Regina’s main used-oil materials drop-off EcoCentre, closed since late December, has now reopened at its new location at Crown Shred and Recycling, 225 - 6th Avenue East, Regina.

The EcoCentre can accept up to 500 litres of used oil per customer per visit, and the corresponding volume of filters and containers.  Used oil materials can be dropped off during regular operating hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Companies with larger volumes may contact a registered collector to pick up from their places of business.

Used oil is considered one of the most potentially hazardous materials if not properly managed. Since the recycling program began in October 1997, until December 2012, it has achieved high total collection rates: 249.73 million litres of used oil; 3.95 million kilograms of oil containers; 27.71 million oil filters.  All materials recovered have been recycled and reused.
