NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - Vancouver-based ALBERTA STAR, usually focused on the hunt for uranium, reports high-grade silver intersections from the South Echo Bay gossan, 3 km east of Contact Lake. The company cut 133 m of 8.78 g/t Ag in hole No.6. Hole No.4 cut 37.5 m of 20.69 g/t Ag, including a 3.0-m section of 195.7 g/t Ag.

The Contact Lake and Eldorado district is the target of Alberta Stars silver, uranium and polymetallic exploration. The company believes that results from the recent Echo Bay program and that at Mag Hill confirm the extensive hydrothermal alteration and mineralization of the polymetallic belt in the Port Radium - Echo Bay - Contact Lake region.
