SASKATOON – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan has confirmed that it is again in talks with the Israeli government about increasing its stake in Israel Chemical Ltd. Earlier this year PotashCorp sought to boost its 14% stake to 25%, but eventually withdrew the offer as negotiations dragged on.

The latest reports have PotashCorp talking about a $13-billion deal that would see it merge with ICL.

The company is quick to point out that no agreement has yet been reached. “No deal has been formulated, there is no assurance that a deal will be reached, or that parties will sign an agreement,” it wrote is a brief news release.
