WORK WEAR: Covergalls, the coverall for women

SUDBURY, Ontario – The first ever coverall designed exclusively by women for women is now available at Century Vallen across Canada.

After many trips underground in her capacity as North American director of sales for an OEM, Alicia Woods wondered why she couldn't find a coverall that fit her properly. For Woods, it was not only a matter of comfort but safety.

"We all know we have to get more women involved in the mining industry," said Woods. "They're an untapped resource pool. One of the ways to get women to start thinking of these non traditional roles is providing them with tools that are actually made for them."

After years of research and testing numerous prototypes, Covergalls was launched in spring 2013.

Although inspired by the female mining experience, the garment is designed for women employed in other industries too.

Special features include a rear opening and two-way zipper, secured pockets to discretely keep belongings on you and snaps at the wrists for added fit. Made from polyester/cotton twill or FR (fire retardant) material, Covergalls is made to stand up to heavy wash and wear and is available in standard blue and safety orange. Multiple sizes and other colours are available by request.

Designed in Sudbury and manufactured by LH Workwear in Montreal, QC, Covergalls is a unique Canadian product.

A line of FR (fire retardant) undergarments is also available.
