ONTARIO - Vancouver-based Quadra FNX Mining and the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation have signed a memorandum of agreement covering the Victoria nickel-copper project near Sudbury. The MOU will facilitate negotiation to reach a final agreement with not only the activities to develop the Victoria project, but with other activities and exploration projects that Quadra FNX may conduct within the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek's territory.

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, formerly the Whitefish Lake First Nation, is one of the signatories to the Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. The First Nation community is situated 20 km south west of Sudbury, ON. Atikameksheng Anishnawbek are descendants of the Ojibway, Algonquin and Odawa Nations.

The Victoria project is at the advanced exploration stage. It includes the site of a former underground mine of the same name that was in production from 1900 to 1923 and again between 1973 and 1978.
