QUEBEC - Rio Tinto Alcan of Montreal is approved the spending of US$7.6 million to increase capacity at its Beauharnois aluminum casting facility. The renovated plant will employ about 35 people and come on stream as early as this spring.
Smelting ceased at Beauharnois last spring, but aluminum casting has continued.
