Christopher C. Kirby, president and CEO of Vancouver-based Adanac Molybdenum Corp. is resigning effective Sept. 30, 2009. Paul F. Nelson, a company director, will take over his duties on Oct. 1.

 

Kalimantan Gold Corp. of Vancouver has named Peter Bojtos as non-executive chairman of the board following the resignation of Murray Clapham. Bojtos has been a director of the company since 2002. The company also welcomed a new board member, Faldi Ismail, an expert on Indonesian coal.

 

Scott Hand, former chairman and CEO of Inco, is the new chairman of privately held Royal Nickel Corp. of Toronto. Tyler Mitchelson will be joining the company as president and CEO in mid-October, having been most recently Vale Inco's VP strategy, business planning and brownfield exploration. Royal Nickel's flagship project is the Dumont nickel property that it acquired in 2007. The project is located between Amos and Val d'Or, QC.

 

Source Exploration Corp. of Vancouver has appointed Brian E. Robertson its new president and CEO. He has more than 30 years experience at mines such as the Dome in Timmins, Equity Silver in British Columbia, Hope Brook in Newfoundland, and South Deep in South Africa. Former president and CEO Abraham Drost will remain on the board.

 

Stephen Sorensen, the CEO of Vancouver-based UEX Corporation, is retiring on Nov. 1, 2009. He will be succeeded by Graham Thody, a director and chairman of the board.

 

Uragold Bay Resources of Montreal says Patrick Levasseur is assuming the positions of president and COO and Bernard Tourillon will become chairman and CEO.
