Vancouver’s Fairmont Resources has named Neil Pettigrew its president and CEO replacing John Bevilacqua. Both men will sit on the company board of directors. Pettigrew is the holder of both a geology degree from the University of New Brunswick and a degree in earth sciences from the University of Ottawa. He also serves as VP exploration at PC Gold.

Richard Crew is the new COO of Toronto-based Galantas Gold. He previously headed the expansion and development project at the company’s Omagh gold mine in Ireland.

Kilo Goldmines of Toronto has appointed a new VP operations, Stuart Thomson, a native of New Zealand. He has expertise in both refractory and non-refractory gold orebodies along with technical, environmental and business experience related to such deposits.

Roland Horst has been chosen to be the CEO of C-Bay Minerals by partners Nuinsco Resources of Toronto and Ocean Partners Holdings Ltd. Horst holds a MBA from the Richard lvey School of Business Administration, University of Western Ontario; a bachelor of law from the University of Western Ontario; a MSc in geology from Laurentian University; and a BSc in geology from McGill University. He will be based in Toronto. The assets of C-Bay include eight past-producing mines in the Lac Dore Complex in northern Quebec.

Doug Nicholson has joined Vancouver-based Oracle Mining Corp. as COO as the company prepared to re-start of the Oracle Ridge copper mine near Tucson, AZ. He will also be directly involved in all aspects of the corporation's strategic planning and business development.

Strike Minerals of Toronto has named Kerry D. Smith as president of the company. Mike Newbury will remain a director and CEO. The company is focused on redeveloping the Edwards gold mine in northern Ontario.
