ONTARIO - Liberty Mines of Toronto plans to restart production at its Timmins operations in Q1 2012. Mining and milling was suspended in February 2011 due to maintenance and tailings pond issues.

The company spent the last six months analyzing the tailings pond problems. It will embark on a project to raise the tailings dam to provide an additional three years of capacity. Potentially, a new tailings management area needs to be built to treat tails for 15 more years. The new facility could get regulatory approval by the end of 2013.

Liberty will restart operations with 170,000 tonnes of broken ore in the underground McWatters mine and 25,0000 tonnes stockpiled on the surface.

Additional information about Liberty's mines in the Timmins area are available at www.LibertyMines.com.
