HOT TOPIC: Do you like the BHP offer for PotashCorp?

Merger and acquisition activity is heating up in all sectors since late in 2009. Deals worth tens of billions of dollars are common, including the one from BHP Billiton for Canada's PotashCorp. CMJ is asking its readers to polish their crystal balls and predict whether or not the merger will go through in its present form.

Last week we enquired of our readers whether they would approve the US$7.1 billion merger of Kinross Gold and Red Back Mining. Three out of four said "yes". The deal appears to be moving forward without a rival bid having been registered at press time.
