MINING PEOPLE: Barrick, Kirkland Lake Gold, and Western Uranium

Barrick Gold of Toronto has named Kelvin Dushinsky to its board of directors. He joined the company in 2002 and is its president. He also holds the post of chairman at Acacia Mining. Following its merger with St Andrew Goldfields, Toronto-based Kirkland Lake Gold asked Doug Cater and Keyvan Salehi to join the company as VP of exploration and VP of corporate development and technical services, respectively. Cater is a graduate of the University of Waterloo; he was St Andrew’s VP of exploration. Salehi holds an engineering degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Kellogg-Schulich School of Management; he, too, was formerly employed by St Andrew in the same position he will fill at KLGold. Western Uranium Corp. of Toronto has appointed Patrick Siglin as VP development. He comes to Western following the acquisition of Blank Range Minerals.
