Paragon Advanced Labs launched a new laboratory service in British Columbia that combines Photon Assay with Veracio's rapid, non-destructive scanning technology to deliver fast, cost-effective whole rock geochemistry results.

The integrated approach helps exploration teams access critical data earlier and make informed decisions while drilling programs remain active, addressing a key challenge facing BC's mining exploration sector.

Addressing BC's drilling window constraints

British Columbia's exploration companies face a persistent challenge: limited drilling windows shaped by weather and access conditions, combined with laboratory result delays during peak activity periods. Traditional assay workflows can take weeks during busy seasons, preventing real-time adjustments to drilling programs.

Paragon designed its new service model to eliminate this bottleneck by providing more comprehensive information without requiring additional sample preparation.

The laboratory prepares samples for Photon Assay and presents them to the Veracio scanner in the same containers. High-energy scanning enables rapid detection of a broad range of elements, including light elements from sodium (Na) at low detection limits.

This combined process gives geologists access to consistent datasets sooner, supporting earlier interpretation and enabling drilling program adjustments while field work continues.

Speed meets decision-making

Peter Shippen, CEO of Paragon Advanced Labs, emphasized the importance of timely data delivery for field operations.

"In British Columbia, time is limited each field season. If results come back too late, the opportunity to act on them is gone. Our focus is on getting data back fast enough to influence what happens next."

Photon Assay provides rapid, non-destructive gold analysis while eliminating traditional fire assay processes that slow turnaround during busy periods. The addition of whole rock geochemistry through scanning supports timely decisions during active drilling programs rather than after the season ends.

Streamlined laboratory integration

Paragon's expanded service offering integrates Photon Assay and Veracio's scanning technology to create a more efficient pathway from sample receipt to result delivery. This streamlined approach helps exploration teams make better-informed decisions earlier in the drilling process.

Paragon Advanced Labs established itself as a technology-enabled laboratory focused on integrating new analytical methods into practical applications that align with field exploration program operations.
