TORONTO, Ontario The CANADA-SOUTH AFRICA CHAMBER OF BUSINESS is arranging a meeting between African mining industry representatives and Canadian equipment and service suppliers for Tues, Nov. 4, 2:30-4:00 p.m. on the 2nd Floor at 445 King Street West, Toronto, Ont.
Under South Africa's new mining reforms, companies operating in that country must meet the obligations of the new legislation by purchasing equipment, supplies and services from Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) companies. This creates an opportunity for Canadian suppliers interested in selling in South Africa to partner with South African BEE companies. The session will feature an overview on the BEE procurement initiative as well as the opportunity for discussions with the South African mining (government and private sector) delegation.
If you are interested in attending this session please e-mail Dorothy Mackley at dmackley@tisa-nafta.com. You will be e-mailed a registration form to confirm your participation. A reception will be held the following evening, Wed., Nov. 5, at Goodman's in the Eaton Centre.
