MANITOBA – Trevali Mining Corp of Vancouver has made the final option payment to acquire a 100% interest in the former Ruttan copper mine 21 km east of Leaf Rapids. The mine was operated from 1973 to 2002.
The Ruttan deposit has a 43-101-compliant inferred resource of 19.75 million tonnes averaging 1.17% Cu and 1.47% Zn. It is also open at depth and in the hanging and footwall zones.
Trevali notes that a geologically large volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits such as Ruttan rarely occur in isolation. Therefore, the Ruttan deposit and immediate underexplored region holds good to excellent exploration potential. The majority of the former mine infrastructure remains in place including tailings management facility, water treatment plant, power, road and rail, and the town of Leaf Rapids that was built to service the former mine.
Information about the geology of the Ruttan deposit is posted at Trevali.com.

There is no date when this article (COPPER EXPLORATION: Trevali acquires 100% of former Ruttan mine) was written. Please let me know when Trevali acquired Ruttan.
Many thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply! I just found this again when I googled myself!
Has Trevali since reopened Ruttan? It’s been almost four years since we last corresponded.
