QUEBEC - Vancouver-based STORNOWAY DIAMOND CORP. has released results from bulk sampling the Renard 4 kimberlite in the north-central part of the province. The sample yielded 2,213.25 ct for an estimated grade of 133 cpht. The largest stone weighed 5.92-ct (a brown octahedron).

Stornoway and 50:50 joint venture partner SOQUEM have completed their program to recover over 6,000 ct from three separate pipes. The samples had an average grade of 108 cpht.

CEO Eira Thomas said, "The latest bulk sample results at Renard have confirmed a high-grade zone at the northern end of Renard 4, with a diamond content 27% higher than previous, reported results in this area."

The next step is to have a market valuation of the Renard diamonds done. That will be followed by a 43-101-compliant resource calculation later this year.
