NORTHWEST TERRITORIES – Canadian Zinc Corp. of Vancouver has received word from the federal minister of Aboriginal affairs and northern development has confirmed that an environmental impact review will not be required for the company’s Prairie Creek lead-zinc-silver mine 200 km west of Fort Simpson.

Canadian Zinc chairman John Kearney broke the news at the company’s annual general meeting on June 30, 2012, in Vancouver. Shareholders were also told the Prairie Creek pre-feasibility study that SNC-Lavalin is preparing will be released before the end of the current quarter.

Details of the Prairie Creek project are available at CanadianZinc.com. (The images in the photo gallery are worth a peek, as well.)
