ONTARIO – The latest resource numbers on the Deep C zone at the Island Gold mine belonging to Richmont Mines of Montreal total over a million ounces. The previous indicated resource has been upgraded to 456,000 indicated tonnes grading 11.52 g/t Au, or 169,000 contained ounces. The inferred resources now stands at 3.2 million tonnes grading 9.29 g/t Au, or 955,000 contained ounces.
The best assays (cut grades over true widths) from the C zone include 12.50 g/t Au over 6.34 metres, 18.32 g/t over 6.70 metres, 11.97 g/t over 6.56 metres, and 15.53 g/t over 4.43 metres. From the B zone they included 33.89 g/t Au over 8.79 metres.
The Deep C zone and all other zones that have been drilled remain open laterally and at depth, according to Richmont.
