ONTARIO – Montreal-based Richmont Mines has a new inferred resource number – 771,000 oz Au in 2.3 million tonnes grading 10.53 g/t Au – for its Island Gold Deep project. The Island Gold mine is a producing underground mine 50 km northeast of Wawa.

The inferred resource includes the new C zone. The 771,000 contained oz represent a 52% increase from the 508,000 oz established in January 2013.

Richmont has included new drill results (all cut grades over true widths) in the revised resource including 21.27 g/t Au over 6.78 metres, 6.52 g/t over 13.60 metres, 19.13 g/t over 7.66 metres, and 31.17 g/t over 2.26 metres. Other equally good results were not included: 10.32 g/t over 3.50 metres, 9.78 g/t over 6.67 metres, 20.74 g/t over 4.75 metres, and 5.84 g/t over 12.51 metres.

The company is currently extending the ramp at depth to provide access to the deep mineralization. Active mining areas currently extend to 400 metres below surface.
