GOLD: Richmont declares W zone to be in commercial production

QUEBEC – Richmont Mines of Montreal says the W zone gold project has completed three months of pre-production and that commercial production was declared on Oct. 1, 2013. The mine is accessible via ramp from the company's Beaufor mine, 25 km northeast of Val d'Or.

The output of the W zone mine during Q4 2013 is expected to be 3,000 oz Au, and in 2014 total 12,000 oz. At the end of last year the zone has probable reserves of 132,251 tonnes grading 7.21 g/t  for 30,680 oz Au. There were also 107,511 indicated tonnes grading 6.76 g/t Au and 5,589 inferred tonnes grading 7.95 g/t Au.

The ore from the W zone is being treated at Richmont's Camflo mill.
