ONTARIO – Kirkland Lake Gold continues to intersect bonanza gold grades during underground diamond drilling at its South Mine Complex (SMC) near Kirkland lake. Hole 53-2291 assayed 452.84 g/t Au (more than 13 oz per short ton) over a true width of 2.50 metres. Hole 53-2337A returned 25.71 g/t over 7.65 metres.

The known strike length of the SMC is now 1,100 metres.

The drilling was done from the 5300 level of the Macassa mine to follow up on several high grade intercepts on the HM claim and to test the North AK claim. The claims were held by a joint venture of Kirkland and Queenston Mining, until Kirkland bought out its partner on Aug. 30, 2012.
