MINERAL PROCESSING: Trevali to acquire Maple Minerals and Caribou mill

NEW BRUNSWICK – Trevali Mining Corp. of Vancouver and Maple Minerals have agreed to an business combination whereby Trevali is offering to issue 20 million common share and 4 million share purchase warrants to Maple, a deal that has an implied value of $23.8 million. Trevali is particularly interested the 3,000-t/d mineral processing plant at the former Caribou mine in the Bathurst Mining Camp.

Trevali operates the nearby  Halfmile zinc mine that began production in January 2012. Production began from the Upper zone, and the mining rate is being ramped up to 2,000 t/d.
