MINING PEOPLE: Amerigo Resources, Avanti, Copper One, and MacDonald Mines

Amerigo Resources of Vancouver has made three changes to its management. Dr. Klaus Zeitler, previously president and CEO, is now chairman and CEO. Robert Henderson, previously COO, has been promoted to president and COO. Lastly, Dr. Robert Gayton, the previous chairman, is now the lead independent director of the company.

The new president and CEO of Avanti Mining in Vancouver is Mark Premo, who had been COO. Craig J. Nelson moves from president and CEO to executive chairman. Premo, a graduate of Michigan Tech, was formerly president of Chevron Mining that operates the Questa molybdenum mine in New Mexico.

Toronto-based Copper One has named Scott Moore as president and CEO, replacing Benoit Moreau. Moore is also chairman of the Copper One as well as COO of Forbes and Manhattan.

At MacDonald Mines Exploration of Toronto, Richard E. Schler is now CEO, having relinquished his COO duties to Quentin Yarie. Yarie is also president of the company. Peter Liabotis, who has worked for the company since 2009, has been appointed CFO.
