MINING PEOPLE: Banks Island Gold, Lincoln Mining, and Sherritt

Wolf Nickel is the new chairman of Vancouver-based Banks Island Gold. He retired from a 35-year career at Teck and Cominco, most recently as president and general manager of Highland Valley Copper. Nickel is also a director of Candente Copper.

Lincoln Mining Corp. of Vancouver has named Ron Coombes to the board of directors. He is also president of International Bethlehem Mining, Black Panther Mining, White Tiger Mining, Rainy Mountain Royalty, Columbia Yukon Explorations and a director of Golden Band Resources.

The newest director of Sherritt International Corp. of Toronto is Adrian Loader. He served previously as president and CEO of Shell Canada.
