MINING PEOPLE: Focus Graphite, Silvercorp, Teck, and White Pine

Focus Graphite of Ottawa has named Don Baxter its new COO. He is a former president of Northern Graphite and was mine superintendent at the Kearny graphite mine in the 1990s.


Focus Graphite of Ottawa has named Don Baxter its new COO. He is a former president of Northern Graphite and was mine superintendent at the Kearny graphite mine in the 1990s.

Lorne Waldman has rejoined the Silvercorp Metals team in the role of senior VP after taking a year’s sabbatical. He was the company’s corporate secretary from 2007 to 2012. Silvercorp is based in Vancouver.

Vancouver-based Teck Resources has announced the appointment of Andrew Golding as senior VP corporate development. He holds a master of metallurgy from the University of Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD.

White Pine Resources of Toronto has tapped John G. Tait to be its new president and CEO as well as a director of the company.
