Toronto’s BacTech Environmental has named Mary Ann Mihychuk VP of its subsidiary that holds the Snow Lake, MB, project. She has stepped down from the BacTech board to become VP operations for BacTech Manitoba Corp. Additionally, Don Whalen, the former executive chairman of High River Gold, has joined the BacTech board.

Centerra Gold of Toronto anticipates a number of changes to its executive at its May 17, 2012, annual meeting. Patrick M. James will retire as chairman to be succeeded by Stephen A. Lang, currently the company’s president and CEO. The current senior VP global exploration, Ian Atkinson, will become president and CEO. David Groves will take over the role of VP global exploration. Also retiring from the board will be Ian Austin who has served since the company floated its initial public offering in 2004.

Gary Sugar has been named to the board of Osisko Mining Corp. of Montreal. He recently retired from his position as a managing director of RBC Capital Markets after a 32-year career.

Vancouver’s PMI Gold has a new COO, Michael Gloyne. He is a mining engineer with over 25 years’ experience in mine development. The company’s flagship operations is the Obotan gold project in Ghana.

To further the Strange Lake B zone rare earth development, Quest Rare Minerals of Toronto has hired a senior project manager and process metallurgist. Respectively, they are Colin Lindsay and Mike Robart.
