Castle Peak Mining of Vancouver has named Clive Arthurs its new VP exploration. Having worked in Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Russia, his specializes in in project evaluation and feasibility studies.

Lori Walton has stepped down from the helm of Edmonton’s Firestone Ventures. He former roles as president and CEO will be taken up by Pamela Strand. The company is exploring for zinc-lead deposits in Guatemala.

NSGold Corp. has promoted former CFO Glenn Holmes to CEO. Hans van Hoof remains with the company as executive chairman. Rob Randall has stepped into the role of CFO.

Pierre Lacombe has joined Pershimco Resources of Rouyn-Noranda, QC, as VP project development. He is a mining engineer with extensive mineral processing experience, fluent in English and Spanish, and recently completed 12 years employment with AMEC.

Vancouver’s Wesgold Minerals has appointed Peter Thiersch president of the company, and Simon Ridgway, the current chairman, is taking on the additional duties of CEO. Thiersch earned a BSc from the University of British Columbia and an MSc from McGill University. He has worked extensively in epithermal and porphyry related exploration. Also be advised that the company intends to change its name to Cordoba Minerals Corp.
