Avanti Mining of Vancouver has appointed Mark G. Premo its COO and CEO of its subsidiary, Avanti Kitsault Mine Ltd. He has a BSc in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University, and was most recent president and CEO of Chevron Mining. The appointment is effective June 4, 2012, and Premo will relocate to Vancouver.

Victor Nielsen is now president and COO of Equinox Exploration of Vancouver. He replaces former president Joshua Bleak, who will retain his role as CEO. Also, Rick Cid has joined the company as VP business development.

Vancouver-based Extorre Gold Mines has named Trevor Mulroney to the post of president and CEO. He had been COO of the company since October 2011. He holds an MDP from the University of South Africa School of Business Leadership, a 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate (South Africa) and a Mine Overseers Certificate (South Africa).

The new VP operations of Saskatoon-based Golden Band Resources is Matthew Conklin. He is a graduate of the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology where he was awarded degrees in mining and geological engineering.

Strata Minerals of Toronto has named Peter Kozicz the President and CEO of the company. He has also held positions as CFO, executive VP and Secretary of Strata.
