Toronto-based FNX MINING has announced that the Honourable Frank McKenna, P.C., Q.C. has joined the company's board of directors effective Sept. 1, 2003. McKenna served with distinction as the Premier of New Brunswick from 1987-97. He is currently counsel with the Atlantic law firm of McInnes Cooper and is a director of several major corporations.

The newly-elected president of the KLONDIKE PLACER MINERS' ASSOCIATION (KPMA) in Dawson City, Yukon, is Mike McDougal. He was also KPMA president from 1996 to 1999. Outgoing president Tara Christie was appointed to the full-time position of executive director.

Edmonton-based SHEAR MINERALS has named Gerald Prosalendis VP of corporate development. Formerly he worked for Dia Met Minerals and was involved in marketing Ekati diamonds.

BARRICK GOLD has added Gustavo Cisneros to its board of directors. He is head of Cisneros Group, which has under his 30 years of leadership grown to do business in over 100 countries in such diverse sectors as consumer goods, broadcast, media, technology and telecommunications.

BEARTOOTH PLATINUM CORP. of Vancouver has named Ted Tomasovich interim president and CEO. He replaces John Andrews who will remain on the board of directors.

The new president and CEO of Toronto's ADMIRAL BAY RESOURCES is Mark Brennan. Robert McIntosh, former president and CEO, is now VP exploration and will concentrate on the company's coal bed methane project in northern Ontario. Godfrey Walton, has joined Admiral Bay as a special consultant; he will focus on the Monte del Favor silver-gold property in Mexico. Also joining the company as a technical advisor is Dr. Bill Pearson.

LARGO RESOURCES of Toronto has named Keith Minty its new president. Minty comes to the company from North American Palladium. The company has also added William Pearson to its board to replace Robert Smiley who has resigned.

The new chairman of APAC MINERALS is Michael Beck. He brings experience as a senior corporate executive, investment banker, investor and management consultant, and as both CEO and CFO of private and public companies to APAC, which has offices in Vancouver.

CANABRAVA DIAMOND CORP. of Vancouver has asked Thomas W. Beattie to become interim president and a director of the company.

Ian Rozier, a veteran of several natural resource companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, has joined the board of Vancouver-based ELGIN RESOURCES.

LIBERTY MINERAL EXPLORATION of Timmins has elected a new board of directors consisting of Don McKinnon, Jr., Steve Anderson, and Eduard H. Ludwig. Ludwig also takes on the duties as president.

Effective Oct. 1, Patrick D. Holden becomes president of GOSSAN RESOURCES of Winnipeg. He is also the current president of the Manitoba Prospectors and Developers Association. Holden takes over from James Campbell, a founder of the company, who is retiring.

SOUTHERN CROSS RESOURCES has appointed Mark Wheatly as new CEO. The company is headquartered in Toronto.
