Sandvik Mining has expanded its rotary drills component exchange program to include the DR410i drill rig, a move the company says strengthens its surface drilling portfolio.
Sandvik already operates on Australia’s West Coast and plans to deliver four new fleets to Papua New Guinea in the coming months. The DR410i component exchange builds on the success of DR412i fleets across the Bowen Basin on the East Coast, offering operators faster, more cost-effective access to remanufactured components.
The new offering delivers immediate replacements for critical parts — including cylinders, rotary heads, gearboxes, pumps, undercarriage motors and compressors — cutting downtime by up to 70% compared with repair-and-return options. Returned cores are rebuilt in OEM facilities using genuine parts, endurance kits and the latest product upgrades.
Sandvik highlights three key benefits:
By rolling component exchange out to more rotary surface drills, Sandvik aims to boost operational efficiency, cost management and sustainability while maintaining safety and quality. The company’s parts and services division also continues to offer new, repair and exchange component solutions to maximize reliability and minimise downtime.
